DreamStage Entertainment, PRIDE’s parent company, held a fan club-exclusive press conference today in a metropolitan Saitama hotel. All participants on the card appeared except for Alistair Overeem and Mirko Filipovic.

Nobukhio Takada opened the conference with a few words: “Yesterday we received a lot of energy from fans. Our fighters were motivated to fight, but thanks to your support and energy, they’re more motivated than ever. I believe these men to be of the highest level in the world, and now, thanks to the growth of MMA and the support of the athlete, it is they who’re in the forefront. Tomorrow, they’ll decide the title of world’s strongest and we hope you all get a chance to see it.”

DSE President Nobuyuki Sakakibara also had remarks to give: “I’ve been with PRIDE since the beginning and never have I seen a group of fighters in such great condition. Tomorrow one of these four men will come forth to claim the title and we only have to wait a little to marvel at this spectacle.”

The convention occured with few bumps, but there were indeed bumps. Kazuhiro Nakamura refused to either interview or take press photos with Nakao. Josh Barnett snidely remarked on the situation, “The two of you are well-matched. If I win tomorrow, I’ll announce in my victory speech that I’ll send you two a wedding gift.” Barnett continued to pester the duo, adding that he’d like to help out with the wedding. Yoshihiro Nakao found all this humourous and added, “You could be my manservant!” Unforutenately, Nakamura did not take well to the joke and seemed especially fired up about it while keeping a composed face.

Nakamura’s mood must’ve been contagious, as Wanderlei Silva expressed some dislike of his opponent,Mirko Filipovic, and his abscence.
