Today’s show in Holland at the Amsterdam Arena proved to be quite a long show. How long? Try 16 matches. No results on the English K-1 page, but they had them on the Japanese page. Results (well, most of them anyways, K-1’s Japanese page didn’t report on all the […]

While waiting for the Cavs to start and trying to avoid cleaning, we ended up at ESPN.com, which is pushing all sorts of different “put yourself on ESPN or ESPN.com” type of things right now.
Our favorite of these is this Stephen A’s Voice of the Fan, which invites you to (their words) scream at Stephen A Smith, or virtual Stephen A Smith, as he’s represented above.
You have a few options, including recording your own voice via phone. We don’t know why anyone would go to quite that length to do this, and we prefer allowing the British computer voice of “Simon” read some adapted lyrics to “The Crepes Are in the Oven.”
When I roll with my boy Tee Dee to the Eiffel Tower and its like that! The crepes are in the oven! The crepes are in the oven! Yeah! The crepes are in the oven mo fo!
The best is the way the computer recognizes the “Yeah!” It makes it really casual and laid back.
While you’re welcome to do so, you need not recreate our customized balding, mustached wimp who’s freezing to death.
If nothing else, having virtual Stephen A follow your mouse movements with his virtual eyes is at least 13 seconds of soild entertainment.

This summer, Frontier Developments and LucasArts will attempt to put the thrill back into theme park simulations with
Thrillville — an amalgam of park building, cart racing, miniature golf, and even first-person shooting contests (against robots, not people). The main objective in
Thrillville is to build your park using one of 15 themes, and then enjoy it with your fellow patrons. Micromanagement is supposedly minimized in the game, but there are basic park administration issues that will need to be addressed such as security, sanitation, and fair pricing.
The last gen graphics look anything but thrilling, but if the developer’s attempt to combine multiple family-friendly genres results in strong gameplay, they could have a hit for all ages. Thrillville will be available on Xbox, PS2, and PSP.

Big day in Cleveland, with the Pistons in town for Game 3 and…well, there are probably other things going on, but those would be more personal in nature for the parties involved, and not something the public would care about terribly.
The crowd should be pretty hyped up. If this be the end, it’ll be a chance for 20,000 people to say thanks to the Cavaliers for an exciting year.
Not only that, but LeBron James has been named the co-MVP of the NBA by the Sporting News. You may be saying “so what?”, but TSN’s award is actually somewhat important, based on how it’s determined.
The magazine sent a ballot to every team, instructing them to have their coach, general manager, assistant GM or player personnel director pick the league’s top player for the 2005-06 season.
Of the 28 ballots cast, James and Nash each received eight first-place votes. Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers and Dirk Nowitzki got six apiece.
“We usually break the tie,” said Stan McNeal, managing editor of The Sporting News. “But this year it seemed like a tie was the way to go because the voting was close.”
What he’s actually saying there is two things. One, LeBron sells more magazines than Steve. Two, the official MVP vote was kinda wrong. And no, we’re not saying LBJ definitely deserved it. We’re only saying that psuedo-Mark Price Steve Nash didn’t.
Whatever - that’s been debated endlessly here, there, and everywhere else. In the end, what matters is showing up and getting a win in today’s game. Terry Pluto (of the Akron Beacon Journal) runs down what an opposing coach says the Cavaliers need to do, and unfortunately it involves remaining focused for 48 minutes.
Oh…and from Detroit Bad Boys - this is just cruel, and we’d love it if we weren’t Cleveland fans.
UPDATE: Ouch. These are just mean.

My sixth Cold Pizza appearance came yesterday, and it was my favorite for a few reasons:
1. I didn’t butcher it (for a change).
2. I followed personal fave Joakim Noah on the program (I was once sandwiched between Xzibit and Carrot Top).
3. I sat in Tony Kornheiser’s chair on the set of PTI for the interview (although I was not allowed to adjust the height).
For a humble blogger, it doesn’t get much better than all that. Click through the pics in the gallery for terrible screenshots and follow the links below to see what we discussed in four minutes of “blogger buzz.”
– The Mighty MJD’s ‘If NBA Playoff Teams Were ’80s Sitcoms’
– Touching All the Bases’ ‘Tribute to the 1985 Clippers’
– Clipper Blog
– Baseball Musings’ ‘1,000 Home Runs’
– Need 4 Sheed’s ‘Zydrunas Retirement Options’ and ‘LeBron Retirement Options’
Many thanks to those who provided such great content. Without you I’d never be on ESPN 2 daytime TV, which I really enjoy doing (despite the deer-in-the-headlights look). And many apologies to all of the terrific sites out there that did not get mentioned. There’s only so much time, and there’s always next time. Hey, I still haven’t gotten my brother’s blog on TV, so you’re in good company.
And if it’s video you want, I have the show recorded on my DVR but no idea how to transfer it online (please help). At least Need 4 Sheed posted a snippet, and she also sent me this Sheedtastic rendition of, well, me, which I just have to share…
