I was recently talking to a purple belt about what had most improved my performance, and one of the main points I realized was that I had just changed my mindset to allow myself to be more aggressive. While watching all the top competitors at my weight…

This doesn’t work. In
Madden’s case, and likely most mainstream sports titles, motion-controlled functions can’t compete with good looks (e.g. fluid animations, realistic physics, etc.). This is the risk Nintendo took. And this is an instance where that risk has put Nintendo at a disadvantage versus its competitors.
Madden NFL 07 is fugly, and if the tech demo of EA’s next generation of sports titles we saw at Sony’s media briefing is any indication, PS3, and Xbox 360 for that matter, will see some incredibly enhanced animation and physics upgrades over the coming years. Nintendo will trade these improvements for the ability to hike the ball with a wrist snap or attempt a pass with a wrist flick — heck, Sony’s PS3 controller can do that. There are other motions for jukes, straight arms, and kickoffs. But these motions don’t make us feel any closer to the real sport, if anything, they’re just tedious. First we have to select a receiver using the appropriate button, and then we have to flick the wrist. Why can’t we just press A?
Madden for Wii needs a new direction.

As reported first by brand new Mamba T-shirt owner Becky, Nets SF Richard Jefferson will play in Game 2 tonight.
Just for kicks, let’s get some confirmation on that. Nope, that’s just another “Shaq is old” column. Capitalization aside, we’ll believe Becky, although she doesn’t approve of RJ’s decision:
something about manu really makes me want to throw things at the tv.
but w/out le tony, we would not have le crepes in le oven. c’est la vie.
RJ apparently will play tonight. stupid, stupid.
just bought my mamba shirt, 8-10 business days til total happiness.
Considering they won Game 1 and essentially did what they came to do, ie split, one must question if this is a wise choice by Richard.
Still, the Heat are a little rattled, and maybe this is his moment to walk onto the court and have everyone inspired by his mere presence. Maybe he could wear that boot and inspire people with bum ankles everywhere.
Who knows - when we’re just depending on our own website’s comments section for the news, the possibilities are truly endless.
One thing’s for sure. Now that Deadspin is selling “You’re with me, leather” t-shirts, the opportunity for synergy exists as never before.
How long before the first black market “You’re With Me, Mamba” or “Who Shot Will from Deadspin?” shirts are out there, maybe from those punk-ass thieving bitches at That Sports Blog.

The Orlando Sentinel’s Jemele Hill has a series for the paper called “Riding With,” where she rides around Miami with a various athlete/celebrity/whatever. Today, she hangs with Buffalo running back Willis McGahee, who talks about his ladies and how much fun he’s having as a single rich football player.
But, man, if it weren’t for those baby mommas …
Q: So far, what’s the most difficult thing about fatherhood?
A: Nothing right now. Not for me. Just dealing with the mother. That’s the difficult part. After that, everything is cool.
Q: What’s more troublesome, an ex-wife or a baby momma?
A: A baby momma.
Q: Why?
A: Because they feel like they should be a part of your life for 18 years. An ex-wife, you can get away from her. A baby momma, you can’t get away from her until the child is 18 or older. They’re going to constantly ask you for money. They just want to nag you for no reason, just because they can. (Willis has never been married.)
Q: Did you meet both of these women here in Miami?
A: (Laughs) Yeah.
Q: Is that why you say you need to get out of Miami?
A: I need to get out of Miami.
Yeah, seriously: Same shit happens to us in Miami too. Get out while you can, young Willis, and be free.
